DirecTV is having a huge free preview January 8-11. This free preview will include HBO, Starz, Showtime, and Cinemax.

Channel Lineup:
501-511 – HBO
515-523 – Cinemax
525-531 – Starz
545 – 557 – Showtime
Starz includes Encore when purchased and Showtime similarly includes The Movie Channel and Sundance, so it is likely the preview will include those as well.
Directv only lists those 4 networks as being a part of the Freeview. http://news.directv.com/inside-directv/
There are a couple on Flix that I would like to see if the other nets are included.
All channels from 501 to 557 are included. Clean up your TIVO/hard drive.
Kymber: For the record, Showtime sold their interest in Sundance to AMC back in ’08.
I hope Encore will be included in this, There are a few old shows on Encore Black and Encore Classic that I would Like to see again! Are channels 535-542 included?

Anyone know what time the preview actually starts? It’s 12:03 AM on Thursday and it hasn’t yet, and Top Gun starts soon, really wanted to watch it.
2:15am and still no movie channels
Does anyone know what TIME the free previews start? I always seem to wonder this.. I know the free preview starts today, yet here it is 5:30 am and still nothing.

Steven C. I too was getting only channels up to 249. Since the Inside DirecTV listed all channels (Showtime 545 – 557), I called DirecTV. They said I should be getting those channels and spent 1 hour with me, but could not figure it out. They sent the problem to the engineers and told me to keep checking back for those channels. So don’t give up.
How’s that for service even for free channels! I love DirecTV

For those who were asking, DirecTV previews always start and end at 6 am eastern.
There is no free preview as of yet. It is almost 9:00pm.
