DirecTV is offering a free preview of their Premier package December 16-19. This is free preview includes 265 channels – this means free HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz and Sports Pack channels.

In my experience, the free previews have not included VOD in the past.
This Free Preview Rocks on Cox Las Vegas that includes HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime, & iNDEMAND PPV on December 16-19, & Includes Sport Premiums.
I have not seen anything from DirecTV about this free preview. Usually this gets listed in their monthly emails and I get a message on my receiver.

Sounds like this is incorrectly marked as a DirecTV preview.
Where is this info DirecTV is doing this. They usualy advertise all their previews on there website or through the mail or on the reciever’s TV Mail. They havent said anything about this just about game lounge on the 23rd and 24th.
Not so sure, Jonas Martin’s statements about free previews do not always hold water. Anyone who subscribes to Cox should post here about whether you’ve found out about a free preview for this weekend to back up his claim. Cable operators usually never run free previews of all premium channels at once, just only one or two (if more than one premium channel is run in free preview at once, it is usually those that are owned by the same company).
HBO, Cinemax, Starz, & Showtime will be avalible on Cox Las Vegas on Dec. 16-19.

Hey everyone – I got this information from a reader tip. 99.9% of the time the reader tips turn out to be accurate. I do rely on reader tips often because as we know, the providers aren’t great about giving us this information. I personally have Dish so I do not get the mailers for DirecTV or the other providers. Since all of you haven’t seen any official word on this I’m guessing that this free preview isn’t going to happen. DirecTV has offered this free preview in the past but it’s usually in the summer when it happens. Sorry for the possibly false information, sometimes I do get it wrong.

I haven’t received any “TV Mail” from DTV regarding the free preview either. Looks like it won’t happen for DTV customers, but as the Admin mentioned, it will be a happy surprise if we do get it.
Gotta believe Jonas is full of it….this type of information only adds to the incredibility of this website and email alerts. Any information, be them tips or otherwise should be checked out by the admins BEFORE they are published. If not, then do away with the service!!!!! Sounds like it’s only a COX thing if it shows up there. I’m a Direct TV customer and agree with the others, no information has come from them of this preview. They do have one in their newsletter for January.
Does Jonas Martin work for Cox or freepreview.tv? I noticed that when you click on his name, it directs you to freepreview.tv. I can also confirm mike’s info that Directv has Showtime free on Jan 6-8 and ESPN Full Court Jan 7-13 (from newsletter).

Mike & David – Thanks for those dates guys, I did know about the Showtime one but the ESPN one is new to me.
David – Jonas does not work for FreePreview.TV and I’m under no impression he works for Cox either.
A question for everyone though – would you like to know about the free previews closer to when they happen or way in advance? I often will find out about some months out and sit on it until start time gets closer but if everyone prefers I can post them right away.
There will be free preview to NBA Leauge Pass December 26, 2011 to January 8, 2012! To all Providers that Cary NBA Leauge Pass.
If you learn about a preview months in advance, I’d be interested to know, but then you might need to repeat the post closer to the event.
I’m also ok with rumors being posted. I’d rather see a false rumor than miss a true preview.
3am here on the West Coast (when free previews usually start with DirecTV) and none of the movie channels are showing anything.
It’s 7:30am Eastern, and none of the channels listed for the FreeView are showing anything other than the message that you are not subscribed to that channel.

I would say let us know when you know about a free preview. And then maybe remind us like 48 hours before it starts.
As for rumors not coming true, i would rather hear rumors, but i wouldnt mind people saying their sources as to where they found out about the preview.

I agree that you should let us know about free previews, but then remind us a week in advance so we can set our DVRs.
You might also want to update the home page to let everyone know that this preview was cancelled.

I posted a few more free previews today and I’m trying to confirm one for AT&T over Christmas weekend – any AT&T subscribers out there have info on that?
As of noon we still didn’t have any of these channels available for the free preview. Will check again when I get home this evening.
Also, aside from HBO none of the channel numbers on this list are the correct number for the associate channel. My DirecTV guide has them on different channels.

No preview for Diret TV. I just checked and have nothing.
I really think Jonas Martin must work for Cox because of his posting telling us the phone number to order the package.
A personal note to Mr. Martin: Please keep your miss-information to yourself. You don’t seem to know what you are doing and it is not appreciated, at least by me.
Admin: Rumors are fine, but Mr. Martin seems to be a VERY unreliable source. I don’t think he should be allowed to post his fantasies in the future.
I live in San Antonio, TX. Just called Directv about the 16-20 Dec Free Preview of HBO, Cinemax, Starz, & Showtime. Not happening. The rep said that she has not received any such info. Directv DOES have a free Showtime channel lineup preview for 2 months. Just had mine activated and have channels 545-558.
AT&T U-verse will be having a free preview of Starz & Encore December 24/25 for shore.
Brandon – How did you find this out? AT&T told me there wasn’t one planned.
Admin over the mall with the UGuide. wow they lied to you. Because I have Comcast and AT&T U-verse, I have the Digital Premier and U450.
They are now showing ads about the Starz and Encore free preview for Dec 24/25 on AT&T U-verse
