Live channels (thru box/DVR) still not turned on though.
Verizon FiOS has free preview of HBO & Cinemax as of 1am ET.

Yes, on-demand, but not through streaming service hbomax.com (when logged in through your provider). You used to be able to use hbonow/hbogo to get free streaming for HBO during these free previews if you logged in through your cable provider, but it doesn’t seem to work with hbonow (at least for me).

I missed it again. I have been constantly missing the previews for years! I keep asking for years for advance notice and I have never received it. How can I know? I thought for sure there would be free previews for Thanksgiving, nope not that I could see.
