Many of the cable and satellite providers will be offering free HBO so everyone can watch a series of Alzheimer’s documentary specials called “Alzheimer’s Project”. Some providers (such as Comcast and DirecTV) is going to let you watch free HBO all weekend while others (such as Dish Network) is going to let you only watch during the airing of the documentaries. A big thanks goes out to Charles for letting me know about this free preview.

Why is Dish a bunch of cheapskates?
They sure are cheapskates. There hasn’t been a single HBO/Cineamax or Showtime preview since fall of 07. They won’t even add the MLB network yet. [admin edited for language]
Good thing I’m getting my own place this weekend so I’ll get pay services soon and it won’t be Dish. It will be Time Warner.
Since I don’t subscribe to HBO, I can’t set my DISH timer for the free special on my DVR. I even tried setting a manual timer but it won’t allow me to select that channel. Bah-humbug
