Wow, alrighty then. “Aggressive acquisition practices?” What is that all about? For the record, Verizon wanted to get out of the Fios & landline business.. not sure what’s with the negative tone toward Frontier.. or to me. All I wanted to do, was explain that they are indeed two different companies – who both use the Fios branding (but in separate areas). No need to get indignant.

Subsidiary was a poor choice to describe Frontier’s aggressive acquisition practices with Vz, I stand corrected, and Frontier can broadcast whatever they want, whenever they want.

Just to be clear: Frontier is not a subsidiary of Verizon. It is, in fact, a separate company. The Fios service territory that Verizon still owns is actually quite small compared to Frontier’s.

I see the report says “Verizon Fios,” but that may be stated out of old habits. So it’s important to clarify which Fios service this applies to, and which it doesn’t.

We have Vz fios triple play and it has been my experience that the start time is 12:01am of the start date and 11:59pm of the end date, I’ve even seen it on as long as 6am of the end date, but your mileage may vary (YMMV).
We have been with Vz for 6years and when these freeviews come up its been HBO and Cinemax, if it’s Showtime then Stars tags along, but I do check either freeview to see if Epix is included on the off chance that someone in programming tapped an extra key, :) .

We received one of those “loyalty” perks two years ago and it stopped like Vz said it would, but I’d still double check so you don’t accrue extra charges. Be nice if we received another one. :)

For Ant and Mike;
It’s hard to say, Frontier is a subsidiary of Vz and I’ve heard that they (frontier) doesn’t have to follow Vz’s lead.
All I can say is check this Friday morning at 12:01am or later to see if you have channel 899, if you do check the rest of the channels and hopefully you’ll be in business and can set your channel guide for the three days.
