Though you will be able to record, as soon as the free preview goes away you will no longer be able to access the programs you recorded off of HBO for example, because you no longer are subscribed on the channel. Me and my wife tried it the last time they did a free preview like this..we recorded some shows and movies and when the free preview went away, the DVR copies would no longer play. :(
